Structural Engineer
PTAG is currently seeking a Structural Engineer for our project working in a Food Manufacturing plant based in the Montreal, QC area.
Location: Montreal, QC
Type of Employment: Contract
Responsibilities:
- Use AutoCAD and Revit to produce structural construction documents.
- Perform hand calculations and utilize structural software for design and analysis tasks.
- Perform surveying and documentation of existing conditions.
- Interdisciplinary coordination including participation in project team meetings.
- Review key structural project decisions with Discipline Director.
- Edit structural specifications.
- Review submittals.
- Respond to contractor Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Perform site observation visits and write associated site visit reports.
- Independent design and documentation of small to mid-sized projects independently.
- Work with Project Engineers on larger projects and specific tasks.
- Ensure the design and production efforts are completed within the project schedules.
- Use Strong technical knowledge and ability to apply engineering principles to unique situations.
- Review and check work performed by junior staff.
- Demonstrate strong work ethic and commitment to quality in execution of project.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with Structural Concentration, Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering or Bachelor of Architectural Engineering.
- Quebec Professional Engineer Designation
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience.
- In-depth knowledge of local and national building codes and design practices as they relate to structural engineering.
- Proficient with structural engineering software.
- Microsoft Office
