Project Manager

Role & Responsibilities:
  • The Project Manager is responsible for the management of the cost, schedule, scope, and technical performance of a portfolio of the Closure Project, as defined in the project performance baseline and is accountable to the Senior Manager.
  • The Project Manager ensures that the Closure project work is performed safely and in compliance with requirements of the Site Licence, QA Program and Facility Authority.
  • The Project Manager will proactively manage the personnel performing the scope of work, and implement project management including responsibility to plan, control and monitor the execution of all project work. They will provide detailed reporting and communication on project status, with emphasis on resolving issues and correcting variances to plans.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with established health and safety and regulations/guidelines, policies, and procedures (i.e., utilizing personal protective equipment as per safe work procedures). Notifies management or supervisor of all occurrences, injuries, illnesses or safety and health concerns which are likely to harm themselves, their co-workers or any other on the premises in a timely manner and in accordance with established reporting requirements.

Qualifications / Requirements:
  • University degree in Engineering or Management, or significant applicable experience.
  • A minimum of ten years’ experience in program/project management including experience leading Project Management teams and /or Project Portfolios.
  • Experience in decommissioning is highly desired.
  • Experience and technical background sufficient to enable the incumbent to usefully contribute to strategic planning, development, and execution of best practices in decommissioning.
  • Must have demonstrated strong leadership skills, to support and articulate the organizations’ vision/mission at all levels and have a proven ability to achieve results through others.
  • Ability to coordinate time with multiple issues and projects.
  • Good understanding of change management concepts.
  • Initiative and judgement to organize and maintain flow of work and accuracy of records.
  • Must be punctual, dependable and safety minded.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, able to prioritize and time management is required. 
  • Ability to understand detailed information is essential.
  • Demonstrates responsibility and is accountable for accurately handling the details associated with one’s work.
